Trained in textile design at Syracuse University, her professional experience began in San Francisco, where she managed a staff of weavers, designing and producing hand-crafted carpets on Swedish rug looms. Tara created the hand-woven private label for AM Collections, NYC. In 2008, Chapas Textiles opened their studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Tara Chapas designs and produces bespoke fabrics by providing a unique platform for creative collaboration between interior designer and textile artisan.
